Dutch government needs to study Singapore example!

Senior government officials in the Netherlands earn about a third of the salary earned by a director with a comparable position in the business sector. There is also a considerable gap between ministers' wages and that of senior management in business. Research bureau the Hay Group concluded this on Monday in its annual European study into top salaries in the public sector over the past year. The researchers warned of a threatening shortage of qualified people at the government. The Hay Group is particularly concerned about how the government will manage to hold on to top officials.
