The number of applications from Iraqi asylum seekers in the industrialised countries increased 77 percent in 2006 compared to the previous year. Most of these applications – some 9,000 - were made in Sweden. The Netherlands was the second most popular country for the Iraqis, with 2,800 applications. The office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) announced these figures on Friday on the basis of information submitted by the governments of the industrialised countries.
Can we send these people straight to the White House? After all, that's where the man is who created the mess that caused the poor Iraqis to move abroad.
