From the news: "Christian democrat CDA Public Health Minister Ab Klink (picture) wants to put a quick stop to happy hours and other campaigns involving cheap drinks at bars and cafes."What are you doing, dear Minister? Micro-managing our lifes? I would think that a public health minister would have more important things to do than ban happy hours.
It looks like the new government is full of moralistic Calvinists who are trying to ban fun. The good news is that I don't think that the ban that Mr. Klink wants will ever materialize. After all, we are still a capitalist society where the bar owners, and not the government, set the prices for drinks.
