In the news today: several health insurers, including mine, are going to pay for gym membership under their basic insurance package. Everybody who is overweight will be able to get a free gym membership provided the family doctor believes that visits to the gym will improve the person's health. A plan that seems to make sense: a small investment in the gym fees might result in big health care savings. Now I only need to convince my doctor. Last time I spoke with him (in January), he only wanted to know if I cycle to work every day. When I answered in the affirmative, he just said "you keep on doing that".

Yeah but does your plan cover your visits to the steam room?
Good for people to know.
